[...] I spent some time in recent weeks with John “Pathfinder” Lester, formerly of Linden Lab and now Director of Community Development at Reaction Grid. The purpose was for a walkthrough of the Jibe platform, which is a merger of Unity3D and other technologies to make a more comprehensive learning experience. I hooked up with John for a tour as I’m actively looking for a platform on which to base my upcoming research. [...]

I missed this momentous occasion ...probably because 2011 was the year of being buried in the salt mine that was my dissertation. Let me know if you need advice, a whip cracker, a shoulder to cry on or a virtual beer drinking buddy. I just submitted my final revisions last Sunday.
Good luck!
regards

Congratulations on ALMOST completing your PhD. I reckon the hardest part of doing a PhD is getting through the enrolement paperwork and finding a parking spot on campus. I actually got through this only to have a tree fall on me 2 months into the candidature. Avoid shonky trees :-)
Good luck, Rob

Ive never tryed Second life but this sounds interesting. Apart from the shape of the womans belly being strange, she didnt have a companion, which is more common than not. Plus, what happens if this woman has a complication? No C-Sections? No Epidural? No techniqual proceedures where really shown.. Maybe its because its more focused on the comunitcation, comfort and simpathy side of midwifery but these things would make it more realistic and be more educational.
